George Tattooing Made To Suit 2026 – Fine Art Tattoo Print

George Tattooing Made To Suit 2026 is my submission to the Made To Suit Exhibition — an exhibition celebrating Australia's tattoo artists through their own interpretation of a life-size tattoo bodysuit.

The original artwork was created at full body-suit scale and explores the relationship between tattoos, identity and personal aesthetic. Classical sculpture, ornate pattern and tattoo-inspired imagery come together to create a piece centred around one idea:

Tattoos can elevate an aesthetic, but they aren't the aesthetic. You are.

I created this piece shortly after moving to Cairns following 11 months travelling around Australia in a van. I was looking for a reset — a chance to completely immerse myself in something and rediscover the creative direction I wanted to move towards.

I've always loved the idea behind Made To Suit: that each artwork becomes a snapshot of where an artist was creatively at a particular moment in time. A kind of time capsule of the subjects, ideas and visual language they couldn't stop thinking about.

This print captures the complete original life-size artwork as a piece of fine art, allowing the full composition and long proportions of the body-suit design to be appreciated outside of its original exhibition setting.
